I don’t think you can have a childhood of prolific reading, be a teenage goth, study English and Classics at University and then go into teaching and not be passionate about storytelling, creativity and the rituals of celebration.

I’ve worked for 20 years as an English teacher in secondary schools, both in Dorset and Hertfordshire. If I can wrangle a bunch of truculent, belligerent teenagers on a wet, Friday afternoon to engage with Shakespeare, there is nothing about your ceremony that I can’t handle!
